Job Summary

Eurofins Scientific is a leading international life sciences company providing analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries. We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Head of Diagnostic Operations to join our Microbiology department in Wolverhampton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the main production laboratory, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards and Eurofins Quality Management System.
  • Prioritize Health and Safety, reviewing processes and risk assessments to scheduled timelines and after incidents.
  • Implement and maintain the 5S process, driving continuous improvement and training the team.
  • Ensure all work complies with documented procedures, samples are handled correctly, and relevant information is recorded.
  • Train and develop staff, maintaining competency records and ensuring complaints and non-conformances are addressed.
  • Collaborate with the local quality team to ensure full compliance with ISO 17025 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Represent the laboratory in external audits and manage waste minimization.
  • Lead the team, including recruitment, training, and development, mentoring, motivation, and disciplinary matters.
  • Support customer requirements and be a key link to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Competence in IT, including LIMS, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Experience working in a UKAS accredited laboratory.
  • Strong knowledge of LIMS and instrument system integration to drive laboratory efficiencies.
  • Strong management skills for performance and absence management.
