Job Summary:
- To provide a comprehensive specialist service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management to patients with complex needs.
- To supervise and mentor occupational therapists, assistant practitioners, and students to ensure high-quality care and professional development.
- To design and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals and carers to enhance their understanding of occupational therapy and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough assessments and developing personalized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
- Providing guidance and support to junior staff members to enhance their skills and confidence.
- Developing and implementing training programs to educate carers and healthcare professionals on occupational therapy principles and practices.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong clinical skills and experience in occupational therapy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Working Arrangements:
This part-time position requires a flexible approach to working hours, with the possibility of occasional overtime to meet service demands.
NHS Scotland is committed to reducing working hours while maintaining pay, and this role will be subject to the new 37-hour working week from 1 April 2024.
