Job Summary:
- To provide a comprehensive specialist service to patients with complex needs, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning.
- To supervise and mentor occupational therapists, assistant practitioners, and students to ensure high-quality care and professional development.
- To design and deliver training programs for healthcare professionals and carers to enhance their understanding of occupational therapy and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing expert assessment and treatment to patients with complex needs.
- Supervising and mentoring a team of occupational therapists to ensure high-quality care and professional development.
- Designing and delivering training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals and carers.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong clinical expertise and knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to design and deliver training programs to diverse audiences.
Working Arrangements:
This is a part-time position, and the salary will be pro-rata. You may be required to work additional hours on a temporary basis to support the transition to the new working week.
NHS Scotland is committed to reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff.
