Job Summary

A high-profile, accessible, and responsive leader with professional, clinical, and managerial responsibility for Dermatology Outpatients at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be able to make informed decisions within their own clinical area and scope of professional practice, involving patients and nursing staff to ensure agreed standards and objectives are met.

Main Responsibilities
  • Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct, contributing towards corporate objectives, and acting within local, Trust, and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
  • Highly developed communication skills enabling the maintenance of high-quality service and ensuring timely management and resolution of unexpected events and situations.
  • Responsible for education and training provision of identified staff groups, patients, and carers within defined areas.
  • Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
  • Support patients, carers, and others during difficult situations arising in the clinical area, imparting bad news.
Key Requirements
  • A knowledgeable team leader and resource for staff, advising on national, local, and Trust policy and procedures/guidelines, ensuring that clinical governance is embedded in practice.
  • Responsible for identifying and assessing complex clinical and non-clinical issues, implementing resolutions, and monitoring/auditing outcome.
  • Responsible for interdepartmental/organisational activities including HR; budget management; complaints; and patient flow.
  • Demonstrate clinical credibility within the outpatient setting and various specialities, including understanding use and maintenance of specialised equipment.
  • Utilise and ensure others utilise information and IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient, workforce, and resource data available.
