The role of an Educational Support Assistant is to provide individualized support to students with Special Educational Needs/Disabilities (SEND) or Social Emotional Mental Health needs (SEMH). This may involve working on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, supporting students with their academic engagement and personal development. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to deal with situations calmly and sensitively, and have a collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEND or SEMH needs
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop strategies for improving student engagement
- Assist with lesson planning and implementation
Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work calmly and sensitively in challenging situations
- Collaborative approach and ability to work as part of a team
