At Tradewind Recruitment, we are seeking a Teaching Assistant Lead to support pupils in an alternative provision within Burnley.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional to work with students across Key Stage 3 and 4, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their potential.

The school offers a specialist learning environment for pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH), with small class sizes of typically 5-10 pupils per class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading pre-planned lessons and supporting pupils to engage and participate
  • Consistently reinforcing the school's behaviour policy to promote positive outcomes
  • Developing relationships with SEMH pupils to enhance their engagement and participation

Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils in alternative, SEMH or PRU settings
  • Able to support pupils demonstrating challenging behaviour
  • Demonstrating resilience and confidence when developing relationships with SEMH pupils
  • Subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, or hold a current DBS subscription with Update Service
  • Providing overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and undergoing professional reference checks
