Job Summary

In this senior role, you will play a key part in bringing our next generation of industry-leading Avionics and Power Distribution system products to market. You will lead and perform system safety assessments across various projects, developing and executing innovative development strategies. As a recognised expert and leader in this field, you will demonstrate a passion for System design and mentor others.

You will join a small team of specialists at different stages of their careers, ensuring your work will be dynamic and diverse. Your role will be crucial in growing the safety team's capabilities.

You will promote a culture of safety engagement across the organisation, emphasising shared responsibility in achieving safe designs. You will establish yourself as a safety signatory, responsible for the sign-off of safety-related project documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote a culture of safety engagement across the organisation, highlighting shared responsibility in achieving safe and reliable designs.
  2. Provide strategic technical leadership and maintain oversight of system safety engineering activities across commercial and military development projects.
  3. Lead projects to a successful outcome by setting the safety plan, coordinating safety support with internal and external customers, influencing emerging designs, driving proactive safety team engagement, performing safety analyses, and resolving technical issues.
  4. Grow the safety organisation's capabilities by sharing knowledge of aircraft operations, aircraft-level systems development, systems engineering principles, and safety engineering practices.
  5. Support our safety management system by promoting product safety awareness in the wider organisation, defining product safety policy and procedures, and supporting risk assessments for in-service safety occurrences.
Requirements

You are an aviation or safety expert with a degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. You have extensive knowledge of and direct experience performing system safety engineering tasks using techniques defined in SAE International ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, or DEF STAN 00-56.

You also have a passion for guiding, influencing, and developing future talent.
