About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our established garage team. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs to heavy goods vehicles. You will also ensure that our fleet meets the highest safety and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to our fleet of heavy goods vehicles and trailers, adhering to DVSA standards
  • Conduct road tests and roadside repairs to our fleet vehicles and trailers
  • Perform planned routine maintenance on our fleet and third-party vehicles
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Carry out re-chassis work and light fabrication as required
  • Maintain accurate records of scheduled maintenance to ensure compliance with our Operator's Licence
  • Provide out-of-hours breakdown cover for our fleet vehicles
  • Participate in relevant training and assessments to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Support and comply with our Health and Safety procedures and standards

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a heavy goods vehicle workshop environment. Ideally, you will hold relevant City and Guilds/NVQ/IRTEC qualifications. A HGV driving license is desirable but not essential.
