About the Role

We are looking for a talented Hydrology and Climate Scientist to join our team at Moody's. The successful candidate will work on developing and applying complex statistical and numerical modeling methods to quantify natural hazard risk.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of space-time stochastic rainfall model components and hydraulic routing modeling.
  • Advance flood hazard models by researching and implementing novel scientific techniques.
  • Validate model components using observed data and benchmarking flood inundation maps.
  • Communicate research results to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • PhD in Hydrology, Hydraulics, Coastal and Ocean Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and probability theory.
  • Experience working with large-scale climate model datasets.

The estimated salary for this position is $110,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.
