About the Role

MHR is looking for a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team and play a key role in managing and optimising our cloud infrastructure.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure and architecture, working closely with our Agile development team to ensure the smooth operation of our software systems and applications.

With extensive experience with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, and strong technical skills in cloud computing, networking, and security, you will be responsible for implementing and managing cloud-based security solutions, monitoring and optimising cloud performance, and ensuring high availability.

You will also be responsible for developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans, staying up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends, and mentoring and coaching more junior members of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure and architecture
  • Develop, test, and deploy cloud-based solutions and applications
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications and services
  • Implement and manage cloud-based security solutions
  • Monitor and optimise cloud performance
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends
  • Mentor and coach more junior members of staff

Key Technical Skills:

  • Experience in cloud engineering or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure automation tools
  • Experience with scripting languages and tools
  • Good knowledge of observability tooling
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies
  • Strong networking and security skills
