Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Oncologist to join our team at the Sussex Cancer Centre at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, nurses, and support staff to provide high-quality cancer care to patients across Sussex.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care to patients with cancer, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment options.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.
  • Provide education and training to junior staff and students.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Basic medical degree (MB BS, FRCR or equivalent).
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
  • CCT in clinical oncology or equivalent.
  • Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 12 months of the date of starting Fixed Term post.
Desirable Criteria
  • Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent).
  • Experience in clinical research and publication.
  • Teaching qualification (e.g. FHEA or equivalent).
