Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified Maths teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist school, where we empower students facing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach GCSE-level Maths to students who benefit from individualised support and smaller class sizes.

Our school serves young people with complex backgrounds, including those with experiences in the care system, mental health needs, and trauma. We provide a structured, calm, and safe learning environment focused on both academic success and emotional well-being. Our trauma-informed approach supports students dealing with anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges, helping them to rebuild confidence, develop resilience, and prepare for a successful future.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach GCSE-Level Maths: Deliver engaging lessons designed to build core Maths skills, enabling students to achieve their GCSE qualifications.
- Small Class Sizes: Work in a quieter, focused setting that allows for individualised instruction and personal growth.
- Trauma-Informed Practices: Apply a sensitive, understanding approach to support students' emotional needs alongside their academic progress.
- Collaborate with Experts: Partner with teaching assistants, mental health professionals, and other colleagues to ensure each student receives holistic support.
Requirements
- UK-Qualified Maths Teacher: UK QTS is essential, along with experience teaching Maths at the GCSE level.
- Committed to Student Success: Passionate about helping students with SEMH needs build confidence and achieve academic goals.
