Electronics Design Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Specialist to join our team at Rec-Solutions. As an Electronics Design Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing tooling and testing for product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Designs and develops tooling and testing for product development.
  2. Leads sustaining engineering projects to deal with component obsolescence – from alternative components to full PCB redesign.
  3. Follows product from inception through product launch from a manufacturing perspective, interacting with early users, understanding issues and needs.
  4. Investigates and debugs manufacturing, field service, and customer problems and drives engineering solutions to improve or correct product or process problems.
  5. Works with suppliers to qualify components, troubleshoot issues, and assist in outside testing services for regulatory compliance.
  6. Writes ECNs to document and communicate engineering changes throughout the organization for smooth transitions of changes throughout manufacturing.
  7. Optimizes designs for production using DFA/DFM principles. Creates models for documentation of designs for use in production processes for new or existing products.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  1. BSc (MSc desired) degree or above in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of production or development engineering experience.
  3. Hands-on experience in assembly and testing.
  4. Hands-on engineer with good communication (written and oral) skills.
  5. Strong problem solver on the production floor as well as in the engineering lab.
  6. Demonstrated understanding of industrial systems and their control including power distribution, supplies, controllers, sensors, serial buses, microprocessors, and programmable logic, digital and analogue circuitry.
  7. Familiarity with C and VHDL programming languages.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of electronic test methodologies, design for manufacturing, design for test, and design for reliability.
  9. Demonstrated project and task management skills.
  10. Positive attitude, high energy, leadership, project management, and troubleshooting skills are required.
