Quality Assurance Specialist, Operations

Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Specialist, Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our Operations Quality function.
This individual will support the Senior Quality Manager in maintaining the highest quality products for our customers while ensuring compliance with the latest local legislation.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain quality standards within operations to ensure consistent high-quality products.
- Collaborate with the supply chain and contract manufacturers to introduce new products efficiently into operations.
- Manage the approval process for FAIRs and create bespoke approvals for product or piece part approvals as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation for RoHS and UKCA CE compliance and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Lead the team in centralized fault reporting and tracking through to resolution using MS Form.
- Raise concerns and reports internally and externally.
- Participate in and lead meetings when the quality manager is unavailable, especially RFW BAU and product meetings.
- Develop a comprehensive handover process to operations.
- Conduct spot checks on current builds for supplier and in-house issues and manage the process of inspecting incoming product, sampling, and compiling data analysis and reports.
- Assist in maintaining our WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) certification.
- Develop and manage SOPs, engaging with third parties for a comprehensive approach.
- Utilize the in-house semi-anechoic chamber and lab test equipment to manage the testing environment and product compliance function.
- Maintain lab equipment fit for purpose and calibrated.
- Consult with contacts in the supply chain and be instrumental in the product management approval process to control firmware changes.
- Communicate with the BOE, BOS, and Royal Mints.
- Diagnose issues around money handling with the quality engineer's assistance.
- Analyze quality data for vendor rating and feedback.
- Effectively manage rejection processes and follow up with correction, root cause, and corrective action.
- Be actively involved in improving business processes and value engineering.
- Help maintain the company's ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
- Obtain professional training in internal auditing through LRQA or a similar organization.
- Support the audit program, schedule, and inductions.
- Administer the Q-Pulse document management system.
- Be willing to travel and conduct internal and external audits.
Requirements
- Strong experience and skill in using Microsoft suite packages and quality software.
- Knowledge, understanding, and practice of ISO 9001:2015.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and lead teams through complex projects with ambiguity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset with a commitment to driving continuous improvement and achieving measurable results.

- Competitive base salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
