We are seeking a skilled and experienced Theatre Practitioner - Scrub Nurse to join our team at Cromwell Hospital in London. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of surgical services to our patients.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting our surgeons and anaesthetists in the operating theatre. You will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and assisting with the positioning and preparation of patients for clinical and operative procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the delegation and supervision of junior grades, non-registered and less experienced staff.
- Create and maintain accurate records of care in accordance with Bupa and Cromwell Hospital's local policies and procedures.
- Assist in the positioning and preparation of patients as directed by the surgical team and ensure that any specimens are correctly labelled and dispatched to the laboratory.
- Help to control cross infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilisation procedures, and asepsis.
- Prepare patients for clinical and operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- RN - 1st level Registration Adult and/or Children / Diploma or Degree in Health Care Studies / ODP Level 3 NVQ / ODA 752.
- Previous scrub nurse experience.
