Customs Documentation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Customs Documentation Clerk to join our team at Red Recruit. As a key member of our freight and shipping team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth clearance of international shipments.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and submit customs declarations for import and export shipments.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of clearance processes, including EADs and T1s.
- Manage and maintain accurate documentation for each shipment, including Bill of Lading and Tariff Headings.
- Communicate with external organizations, such as HMRC and Port Authorities, to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Process payments from customers in line with company policy.
- Calculate Duty and VAT costs for each consignment.
- Process Import/Export declarations.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to importers and exporters.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations, laws, and customs procedures.
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- HMRC customs declarations experience, including imports and exports.
- Experience with T1s, POA, EAD, Transit documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Destin8 and Descarte systems.
