We are seeking a highly skilled Method Development Scientist to join our team at Imerys. As a key member of our Analytical Laboratory, you will play a crucial role in developing new analytical methods and techniques to support our business.
About the Role:As a Method Development Scientist, you will be responsible for leading method development and instrument setup projects on a laboratory scale. You will develop, optimize, and prepare analytical methods for internal use, ensuring they meet the required standard for validation and transfer. You will also perform test measurements using approved methodologies, with a specialized focus on ICP-OES and ICP-MS techniques.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and optimize analytical methods for internal use
- Perform test measurements using approved methodologies
- Contribute to mineral analysis projects and participate in Rietveld analysis
- Draft new Approved Test Methods for each project
- Present the findings of method development projects
- Provide training to fellow technicians on specified methods and instruments
- Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory accreditations

We are looking for a candidate with a strong educational background in Chemistry, Science, or Materials Science, complemented by an MSc, and preferably a PhD in the relevant field. You will have experience working within a laboratory setting, specifically in method development roles, showcasing proficiency in the safe handling of laboratory equipment and chemicals.
You will also have hands-on experience with ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS instrumentation, preferably in a method development capacity. Familiarity with mineral analysis techniques and experience with Rietveld analysis is a plus.
