Job Description

Role Overview

As a Content Editor - Sports, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality copy across the Sports Direct ecosystem. Working closely with the Creative Team and wider Marketing Team, you will ideate, write, and curate content that reflects the brand voice and tone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging social media content that resonates with the target audience.
  • Collaborate with the directors and video team to write and edit scripts for various campaigns.
  • Conduct interviews with athletes, influencers, and campaign subjects to gather insights and information.
  • Ideate, write, and curate content for the Sports Direct editorial platform, leveraging commercial priorities, cultural awareness, and SEO knowledge.
  • Review and edit campaign proposal decks developed by the team before sharing with key brand partners.
  • Produce compelling OOH copy concepts for various formats, including 48 and 6 sheets.
  • Update and rewrite information on websites and company materials.
  • Write original copy and edit content for internal marketing and communications materials.

Requirements

  • Excellent writing ability, including the capacity to write in different styles and to direction.
  • Strong listening skills, enabling you to understand business needs and effectively develop project briefs.
  • Ability to comprehend target audiences and tailor content accordingly.
  • Good research and analytical skills to gain accurate subject understanding.
  • Excellent organizational skills, managing multiple projects simultaneously to high standards and tight deadlines.
  • A creative approach to developing ideas and conveying messages innovatively.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly with a positive can-do mentality.
  • Excellent attention to detail, including proofreading own and others' work.
  • Understanding of SEO and its impact on content.
