Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Automation Experts Ltd. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex mechanical systems for our clients in the Nuclear & Defence sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Design and develop mechanical systems, including production and verification of fit-for-purpose designs and calculations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design coordination and implementation of UK H&S legislation and design standards.
  • Supervise and verify design deliverables, including presentations and participation at HAZOP and Design Reviews.
  • Liaise with manufacturing, testing, and commissioning personnel to ensure design optimization.
Requirements:
  • Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in concept design of special purpose, mechanical handling, robot automation, crane handling, or assembly lines.

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days of office work. The position is available for contractors inside IR35. We offer competitive rates and a 1-year duration. The ideal candidate will be based in the West Midlands or North West, with easy commutability from surrounding areas.
