Senior Test and Development Engineer

Due to expansion in the department, an excellent opportunity is available for a Senior Test and Development Engineer to play a key role in developing future product ranges and new technologies.

This role will report to the Test and Development Manager and join a highly focused, passionate team, working on exciting new programmes to both maintain and further extend the company's range of industrial products and machines worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Take ownership and responsibility for completion of Testing and Development activities on new product designs, systems, and components from project creation through to Engineering Sign Off and completion.
  2. Drive and operate machines, including benchmarking and liaising with Test Drivers and Group Assessors.
  3. Diagnose machine technical issues and work with different teams to solve problems.
  4. Analyse problems and propose design solutions.
  5. Present test results and provide analysis and reporting.
  6. Design, build, and commission test rigs.
  7. Liaise with internal/external customers/departments as required during projects.
  8. Provide information for Engineering Sign Off records, DVPSOR's, and Technical Construction Files.
  9. Supervise XP resources allocated to assist with development tasks and support prototype builds.
Requirements:

The company is looking for the following education levels and skill set:

  1. Degree/HND in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience in the design/development of heavy vehicles.
  3. Good working knowledge of drive-train, hydraulics, and electrical/electronic systems.
  4. Good working knowledge of data acquisition, processing, and vehicle testing.
  5. Strong Microsoft Office skills.
