Electrical Systems Specialist

Boise Cascade is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including power distribution, motors, controls, and PLCs.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including power distribution, motors, controls, and PLCs.
  • Plan layouts of electrical systems.
  • Read blueprints and electrical diagrams.
  • Install new electrical equipment and wiring, ensuring compliance with NEC and State of Oregon electrical codes.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, meters, and meggers.
  • Support other maintenance functions, following plant and region policies.
  • Work in a safe manner, adhering to company safety policies and utilizing required PPE.
  • Maintain a high degree of quality in performance and methods, with regards to efficiency and safety.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • A valid Oregon Manufacturing Plant Journeyman license or higher, or the ability to obtain a license prior to date of hire.
  • Ability to work all shifts and pass a pre-employment criminal background check, drug test, and physical assessment.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including power distribution, motors, controls, and PLCs.
  • Computer systems experience, including CMMS, to utilize work order systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PLC programming skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Maximo, SLC 500, PLC V, and/or ControlLogix.
  • Work experience in an industrial environment.
