About the Role:

XPO is seeking a skilled Transport Shift Operator to join our team at our ETEX contract based in Portbury, Bristol. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective running of our transport function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of drivers, shunters, and warehouse operatives to ensure timely loading and dispatch of vehicles.
  • Coordinate with external hauliers and suppliers to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize vehicle utilization and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the Shift Management team to resolve customer issues and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Process and file paperwork accurately and securely, and provide proof of delivery to customers.
  • Build relationships with third-party hauliers and internal XPO sites to maximize vehicle utilization and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and administration skills, with the ability to handle different personality types.
  • Excellent organizational skills, management capability, and influencing skills.
  • Background and experience working as a transport operator, with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word and Excel).
