Job SummaryWe are seeking an Energy Advice Officer to join our Sustainable Communities team in Colne. This role will play a vital part in implementing our energy efficiency programs and supporting local communities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing incoming referrals, conducting assessments, and providing advice on energy efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement energy efficiency programs to reduce energy costs and improve living conditions for vulnerable households.
- Manage incoming referrals and conduct assessments to identify energy efficiency opportunities and provide tailored advice.
- Deliver energy advice and support to customers, including home visits, community outreach, and energy advice events.
- Establish and maintain excellent referral links with partner organisations to raise awareness of the project and provide support to customers.
- Refer clients to other organisations offering support in areas such as debt management, health and wellbeing, employment, and education.
- Experience of working directly with members of the public in a customer-facing role, particularly with clients who face multiple barriers.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability issues, including fuel poverty and its effects.
- Ability to work independently and meet targets, while managing workload and prioritising tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and partner organisations.
- Knowledge of partner agencies offering support on wider debt management, health and wellbeing, employment, and education.
- Salary: £26,862 per annum
- 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays
- Mainly office-based, with some opportunity for working from home
