Fostering Independent Reviewing Officer

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team as a Fostering Independent Reviewing Officer. As a key member of our Independent Reviewing Service, you will provide strategic advice and oversight of the needs of our fostering service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality reports that contribute to the development of our foster carers and fostering service.
  • Review the quality of oversight from our fostering service and hear feedback from children, young people, and other professionals.
  • Work closely with the IROs for Children We Look After to understand the needs of the children who our foster carers are taking care of.
  • Develop links with the Foster Carer Forum to build relationships and contribute to the development of our foster carers.

Requirements:

  • Qualified social worker with experience of working with Children We Look After and Fostering.
  • Experience of social work practice leadership and ability to use systemic ideas to challenge foster families.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Children Act 1989 and 2004, Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
  • Awareness of current national policy, evidence-based research, and best practice.
