About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join our integrated stroke therapy team for maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity for a Physiotherapist with stroke specialist skills and proven leadership experience to contribute to the delivery of high-quality care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert therapy across both our hyper-acute and acute stroke units, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination. They will lead on evidence-based practice, applying local and national stroke service objectives to drive service improvement.

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop and implement innovative solutions, contributing to the development of the therapy team and the service as a whole.

Key Responsibilities
  • To support the operational management of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff within the stroke team, including supervision, annual appraisal, training, and general support.
  • To deal with issues relating to performance management in consultation with Human resources and the Lead Therapist to effectively manage staff within the clinical team.
  • To ensure effective stock control and use of resources to support budget management, reviewing staff resources and skill mix to meet service needs.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Completed or working towards completion of relevant postgraduate study and experience of working at a senior level in this specialist area.
  • Relevant specialist experience in stroke specialty and proven leadership experience.
  • Experience of providing education and supervision to staff and students.

A valid UK driving license is desirable.

Salary Information

The salary for this role is £62,000 - £69,049 per annum, depending on experience.
