About the RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, Learning Difficulties, Challenging Behaviour, Dyslexia, ADHD, and SEMH. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualized support to pupils in the classroom, small groups, and one-to-one settings
- Using positive reinforcement techniques and behaviour-based instruction to promote positive behaviour
- Following pupils' specialized support plans to help them achieve their full potential
- Supporting teachers in the classroom, which may include marking and delivering lessons
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 in Childhood Studies or a TA course
- Relative experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a SEN school
- Additional SEN training certificates, such as MAPA, Mackaton, or Team Teach
- A genuine interest in supporting children with extra needs
