Job Title: Indirect Buyer

Job Summary:

SF Recruitment is seeking an experienced Indirect Buyer to join a leading global manufacturing business in North Warwickshire. As an Indirect Buyer, you will be responsible for leading on all indirect spend requirements for the plant, as well as working at a group level to support on wider group procurement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Base Management: You will be the owner of the plant supply base, accountable for the local supply base and evaluating it through a vendor rating process once a year.
  • Risk Management: You will be responsible for risk management with the support of the Finance department, focusing on the financial health of suppliers, penetration rate, and other relevant factors.
  • Benchmarking and Improvement: You will benchmark spend data and identify opportunities for improvement, contributing to the plant's synergies and developing conditions with other buyers to leverage volumes and optimize costs.
  • Supply Base Relationships: You will manage supply base relationships according to purchasing policy, solving issues with suppliers and leading negotiations to ensure fair competition.
  • Sourcing and Contract Management: You will prepare sourcing recommendations, present them in sourcing, and manage plant contracts, implementing global contracts managed by the lead buyer.
  • Purchasing Strategies: You will define purchasing strategies for scope of commodities, identifying market opportunities and key drivers, and defining the supply base for commodities, managing relationships with players.
  • RFQ and Sourcing Choices: You will drive RFQ and propose sourcing choices to plant representatives and Purchasing management, delivering and committing on savings for the scope of work.
  • Contract Negotiation: You will negotiate contracts, reaching business objectives in terms of costs, quality, delivery, and flexibility.

Skillset Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience within an indirect/services procurement role.
  • Able to manage strategic procurement activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and benchmarking.
  • Good knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Able to influence stakeholders at both local and group levels, comfortable within a complex stakeholder environment.
