An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at Jupiter Recruitment. This exceptional care home in the Northampton area is part of one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.
This spacious care home boasts purpose-built facilities, making it an ideal setting for nursing, residential, dementia, and respite care. As a key member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of all food in accordance with agreed menus.
To be considered for this position, you must hold an NVQ Level 2-3 in Food Preparation and Catering. Your key duties will include:
- Undertaking menu planning in consultation with residents and the Home Manager
- Overseeing and participating in the preparation and cooking of all food in accordance with agreed menus
- Ensuring menus are displayed showing choices
- Ensuring individuals on special diets or with specific cultural needs are catered for and that choice is also available
- Checking quantity and quality of stock and ordering items in accordance with the catering manual
- Supervising the kitchen employee team
- Ensuring HACCP processes and the catering manual are followed and recorded as required
- Ensuring that food expenditure is kept within budget in consultation with the Bursar and/or Home Manager
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
- Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting
- Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of nutrition and the ability to develop menus that meet dietary requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and work efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff
The successful candidate will receive an excellent salary of £15.00 per hour.
