Management Accountant Opportunity

Hutcheon Mearns Limited, a leading oil service company, is seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join their team on a full-time, staff basis. This exciting opportunity is based in Altens and offers a hybrid and flexible working arrangement, providing an ideal work-life balance.

This role presents a fantastic chance for candidates looking to progress their career in a growing business. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial part in supporting the company's financial decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts to inform business decisions
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Analyze Profit & Loss trends and provide variance analysis to budget and prior year
  • Review margins on customer accounts and products
  • Provide financial insights to guide business decisions
  • Proactively manage open balances on customer accounts
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns
  • Support the budgeting process
  • Assist with the annual external audit
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure efficient operations
  • Identify areas for improvement and contribute to controls improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ICAS qualification, working towards accreditation or QBE
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume finance function
  • Understanding of working within a matrix structure (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve shared goals
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
