International Development Programme Lead

BBC Group and Public Services is seeking an experienced International Development Programme Lead to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on a range of projects that support vulnerable communities around the world.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for leading international development programmes, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement programme plans, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with BBC's editorial standards and approaches.
As an International Development Programme Lead, you will have experience of managing projects in the international development sector, including knowledge of the project management cycle and ability to work effectively with local partners. You will also have excellent communication skills, including the ability to write well in English, and strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in forming effective relationships with a range of local and international partners.
You will be based at our London office and will work remotely as needed, using online platforms such as Teams and Zoom to collaborate effectively. The role requires the right to work in the UK and may involve working with groups of vulnerable children, youth, and adults, for which mandatory training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead international development programmes, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards;
- Develop and implement programme plans, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with BBC's editorial standards and approaches;
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver programmes, including local partners;
- Ensure that programme deliverables meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time;
- Identify and address any issues or concerns that may impact programme delivery;
- Degree in a relevant field, such as international development, project management, or business administration;
- At least 3 years' experience of managing projects in the international development sector;
- Experience of working in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, particularly in Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Russia, Moldova;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in forming effective relationships with a range of local and international partners;
- Ability to work remotely, using online platforms such as Teams and Zoom to collaborate effectively;
- Strong understanding of the international development sector and its challenges;
- Knowledge of current trends relating to information disorder and good practice that can strengthen digital media literacy;
- A competitive salary of £40,000-£46,350 per annum, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience;
