The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with experience in direct patient care and classroom instruction. You will be responsible for educational demands and services associated with clinical staff needs, and will provide direct patient care to maintain clinical expertise.
The Medical Surgical Department is a 23-bed unit that includes a swing bed program, providing care across the adult life span to those experiencing illness in a critical access community hospital setting. The Special Care Unit at Waldo County General Hospital is a 4-bed critical care unit that provides intensive therapies and interventions to adult patients.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing or enrolled in a BSN program within 6 months of hire.
- License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing. Professional certification in practice specialty preferred. Current BLS and ACLS.
- Experience: Demonstrated clinical expertise in direct patient care as normally acquired through a minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience and meets all the care delivery expectations of the expert clinical nurse within their clinical setting.
