We're seeking an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our underwriting team, supporting the development of our Commercial Direct product suite and driving profitable financial targets across all distribution channels.

This exciting opportunity offers a hybrid working arrangement, with two days spent in our London or Bristol office, allowing you to balance work and personal life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of top and bottom line financial performance for the Van products, ensuring periodic reviews and underwriting actions are carried out within a set timetable.
  • Take responsibility for the scoping, design, and underwriting specification of Van product.
  • Manage the technical underwriting content of appropriate policy documentation as required.
  • Assist with UW Strategy, problem solving, underwriting function, and development, ensuring Service Standards, Systems, and Governance Framework procedures are adhered to.
  • Champion the Van Products by working with and building strong relationships with Key Stakeholders, Van development, Third Party suppliers, and fraud squad to ensure profitable account growth in line with budget.
  • Work with Pricing to continually assess and develop the Van Products.
  • Maintain our Risk 1st line of defence through effective process management and auditing.
  • Ensure the Van Products are maintained and developed in line with strategic, regulatory, and statutory developments.
  • Maintain expert market and product knowledge of designated product areas, including all inputs to underwriting knowledge systems.

Requirements

We're looking for an experienced Commercial Underwriter with a strong background in underwriting, risk management, and stakeholder management. You'll have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
