About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high-speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

We're seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead the section design delivery teams and technical assurance team for efficient delivery of the design phase, and design changes along the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, enable, and monitor the timely delivery of the integrated design and design consenting programmes in line with the construction and overall project programme.
  • Establish a collaborative working environment within the C23 IPT to deliver the best project outcomes.
  • Liaise closely with the Design Discipline leads and other Technical Function Senior Management Team to ensure the delivery of designs with a consistent approach across the project.
  • Guide and oversee the design activities from PW and TW designers related to the Section, in coordination with the Technical Delivery Director.
  • Support the Technical Delivery Director and the Technical Director with the commercial management of designers, liaising with the Commercial team as required.
  • Responsible for reviewing and reporting design delivery performance in the section, in liaison and with support from the project controls and commercial teams.
