We are seeking a qualified Solicitor to join our Adult Social Care team, providing legal expertise to support vulnerable adults in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a diverse caseload of Adult Social Care files, providing legal advice to our Adult Social Care service.
- Handle Court of Protection proceedings, safeguarding the rights and interests of vulnerable adults who lack mental capacity.
- Advise on the availability of services to meet the social care needs of adults under the Care Act 2014.
- Review and potentially challenge local authority decisions to refuse care and support.
- Provide guidance on funding care and support for individuals who don't meet the means test for local authority-funded care.
- Represent the client department at all case-related meetings and conduct advocacy in court in appropriate matters.
- Adhere to the Legal Services Unit's quality standards (Lexcel) including time-recording to maintain professional standards.
- Handle confidential data sensitively and securely in accordance with policy.
We are looking for a qualified Legal Executive/Solicitor/Barrister with strong legal knowledge in adult social care and mental health law. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and an interest in public sector work and supporting vulnerable members of the community.
