Job Title: Assistant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Hellesdon Hospital. As an Assistant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the professional psychological care of patients admitted to our acute mental health wards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Carry out protocol-based psychological assessments of patients, including neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews with patients and others involved in their care.
  • Assist in the formulation and delivery of patient care involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a patient's problems.
  • Assist in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups, where required and appropriate.
  • Prepare psychology reports, where required and appropriate.
Requirements:
  • BPS accredited degree in Psychology.
  • Experience of working with individuals with mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of working in an inpatient setting.
  • Experience of working as an assistant psychologist.
  • Experience of working as an assistant practitioner or support worker.
  • Experience of working within a community mental health team.
Research Experience:
  • Able to demonstrate research knowledge and experience.
  • Postgraduate research qualification.
  • Experience of working as a research assistant.
  • Experience of research within the NHS.
