This is an exciting opportunity to become a skilled Substation Equipment Technician Trainee at National Grid plc. Our three-year apprenticeship programme offers hands-on training in the maintenance and repair of high-voltage substation equipment, allowing you to contribute to the smooth operation of our substations and the overall electricity transmission network.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance and repair of high-voltage substation equipment, including circuit breakers, transformers, disconnectors, compressors, and auxiliary systems.
  • Collaboration with our team to ensure seamless operations and optimal performance of our substations.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Five GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, including passes in Maths and English Language (grades 4/C or above) OR a Level 2 Pass in Functional Skills.
  • A driving licence that permits you to drive in the UK by the end of your first year.
