Gardening Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Gardener to join our team at the National Trust. As a key member of our Gardens team, you will play a vital role in delivering the day-to-day care of our gardens and estate, maintaining high presentation standards, and contributing to the delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planting and maintenance of shrubs and borders, mulching, hedge cutting, and lawn mowing.
- Work alongside gardeners and a team of volunteers to achieve our gardening goals.
- Provide excellent customer service to visitors, answering garden-related questions and sharing your knowledge with pride.
- Operate a range of machinery and equipment, including tractors, hedge trimmers, and pedestrian mowers, with training provided.
What We're Looking For
- A practical approach to work, with a focus on getting the day-to-day tasks done.
- An interest in plants and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A full driving license, as you will be required to work at different locations on the estate.
