Job Title: Senior Middle Office Analyst

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Middle Office Analyst to join our team at Richard James Recruitment Specialists Ltd. As a key member of our P&L team, you will be responsible for producing daily P&L reports, consolidating trade book reports, and ensuring their precision, consistency, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce daily P&L reports and consolidate trade book reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Resolve queries from traders and other departments related to P&L impacting topics.
  • Raise queries to traders when proposed booking changes or business practices are unclear.
  • Bring awareness and understanding to the impacts of deal changes or bookings on different departments.
  • Validate physical commodities and derivative deal entries to ensure accurate valuation within our ETRM.
  • Maintain price curves and associated calendars.
  • Understand funding requirements for futures and forwards and their impact on stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with clearing brokers and clearing banks.
  • Monitor trading activity and report unusual activity.
  • Support Market and Credit risk monitoring.
  • Calculate the impacts of IR and FX on P&L and work with the Treasury team to ensure accurate hedges.
  • Support Finance in month-end financial closing processes.
  • Provide summary reporting on key analytics.
  • Collaborate with other teams to add value to tasks and gain greater insight.
  • Propose and implement innovative processes and calculation methods.
  • Own Contract and confirmation management for financial trades.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Commodity Trading environment.
  • Economics, finance, or similar quantitative-based degree.
  • Confident and clear communication style.
  • Ability to work logically, quickly, and accurately under pressure.
  • Comfortable with large data sets and able to effectively display and explain analysis.
  • Commercial awareness and adaptive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage delivery and expectation of the front office.
