Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Flight Checker to join our team at DO & CO. As a Flight Checker, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of prepared meals for all classes of flights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough quality and quantity checks on packed flights to ensure compliance with menu cards and specifications.
  • Verify special meal requests and last-minute changes, reporting any discrepancies to the Shift Manager.
  • Work in a chilled environment, provided with necessary equipment and clothing, to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement systems to ensure quality of product, resolve problems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve 100% flight checks and maintain a positive and professional work environment.
  • Work under own initiative, with a focus on problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Provide hourly status updates to managers on tasks and progress.
  • Work on diverse customer assignments, with each day presenting new challenges and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with department heads, ensuring a positive and professional service that elevates the DO & CO reputation.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety responsibilities, maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a chilled environment.
  • Working knowledge of Basic Hygiene.
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing/stores environment (ideally).
  • Basic Numerical and checking skills.
  • Basic written and verbal English.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Patience and calmness in stressful situations.
  • Physical skills, including movement, coordination, and dexterity.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of Food Safety (with training provided).
  • Problem-solving mentality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and motivate team members.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or fresh food industry sector (desirable).
  • Excellent working knowledge of reporting.
