Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Grade 4 to join our Barnsley special school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and younger people with special education and behavioural needs, and will assist in providing educational support.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement and lead lesson plans and activities
  • Assist students with alternative learning
  • Provide one-on-one help to students who require additional support
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to create a positive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Update, maintain, and monitor pupil plans
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or younger people, ideally those with special education needs (SEMH/SEN/SEND)
  • Ability to educate and engage students effectively
  • Strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • NVQ L3 qualification or willingness to work towards
What We Offer:
  • Starting salary for a grade 4 Teaching Assistant is £19,802.11 actual annual salary working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days
