Job Role: Teaching Assistant (Grade 4)
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full-time, 33 hours per week, term time only plus 5 inset days
Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for children with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, and be able to adapt their approach to meet the needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of each student.
- Support children with special educational needs, ensuring they receive appropriate care and attention.
- Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among students.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop individual education plans for students requiring additional support.
- Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team on their development.
- Maintain a clean and organised classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational or care setting.
- IDEALLY experience working with children/young people with SEN/SEMH needs.
- MUST be educated with GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, adapting language and approach as necessary.
Starting salary for a grade 4 Teaching Assistant is £19,802.11 actual annual salary working 33 hours per week Mon-Fri term time only + 5 inset days + amazing benefits working for our Wellspring trust.
