The Emerald Group seeks a highly skilled Risk Modeller to join our team. This role involves developing solutions to current risk models to account for climate change.

  • The successful candidate will work across the company to deliver climate analytics and help the business understand the impacts of climate change.
  • They will engage with clients to deliver their climate analytics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing climate model data, as well as observation data, as part of specific projects investigating the impact of climate change.
  • Running their risk models and adjusting them to account for climate change.
  • Producing reports and presentations summarising the key results and presenting these to clients.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest academic publications on climate science through academic engagements.
  • Staying informed about new solutions available within the market.
  • A deep understanding of climate science, models, and academic work is essential.
  • Programming abilities (R/Python) that allow for the analysis of climate data are required.
  • The ability to translate complex academic work and analytics to those without a scientific background is crucial.
  • A willingness to work as part of a team delivering a range of solutions, as well as responding to client requests.

The estimated salary for this role is around £70,000 - £100,000 per annum, based on experience.
