About the Role

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a special school, supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The ideal candidate will be patient and knowledgeable about Autism, with an understanding of how to support young people with this diagnosis. They will be adaptable and able to tailor approaches to each individual, recognizing that ASD is a wide spectrum with varying needs.

The successful candidate will provide both 1:1 and general classroom support, working closely with the teacher and fostering relationships with all students in the class. They will be aware of sensory sensitivities and able to intervene when needed to help maintain a calm environment.

About the School

The school is located in Bridgend and caters to students aged 3–19 with varying levels of complexity in their diagnoses. In addition to Autism, some students may have additional needs, requiring more advanced support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
