We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special educational needs school. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, providing one-on-one and small group support to help them reach their full potential.

About the Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will assist with classroom management, implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and work closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to adapt lessons and provide differentiated support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils with varying needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech, language, and communication difficulties.
  • Assist with classroom management and the implementation of IEPs.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to adapt lessons and provide differentiated support.
  • Support pupils in developing key life skills, including social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • Patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Adaptable and able to work well in a dynamic school environment.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of teachers, specialists, and parents.

Requirements:

  • Safeguarding Level 2 (Teaching Personnel will help you attain this)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • DBS certificate on the update service (Teaching Personnel will help you attain this)
