About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Development Engineer to join our Performance Materials team at TE Connectivity. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing new products and technologies that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technical requirements from customer user requirements and define new concepts for product development.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams from an engineering perspective and coordinate technical activities and communications.
  • Prepare documentation, including product specifications, test plans, and production drawings.
  • Design products to optimize for cost, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate closely with global manufacturing teams and contribute to the technical roadmap of the Performance Materials team.
  • Comply with TE H&S policies and maintain and coordinate safe systems of work with local management.
Requirements
  • Experience in product development or a similar role, preferably with a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, Material Science, Polymer Engineering, or similar.
  • Technical experience in material development, polymer processing, including compounding and extrusion as it relates to tubing or continuous production environments.
  • Understanding of product development by integrating deep knowledge of theory and practical experience into product development.
  • Ability to develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity, requiring a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
  • Self-motivated, organized, with the ability to prioritize, set, and achieve goals, and drive improvements in business processes for product development.
