Supporting Academic Excellence as a Teaching Assistant (Apprentice)

The Leigh UTC and Inspiration Academy is seeking a motivated and engaging individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant (Apprentice), starting from September 2024. This exciting opportunity will provide support for pupils with specific needs, enabling them to make a real difference in their development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with their educational and social development, both individually and in groups
  • Provide support for students inside and outside the classroom to ensure full participation in activities
  • Assist teachers with maintaining student records
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with students, treating them with respect and consideration
  • Deliver a personalised curriculum for each pupil's learning
  • Have high expectations for every pupil's academic and personal progress
Apprenticeship Details:
  • Annual wage: £11,805 per annum (£13,725 full-time equivalent)
  • Working weeks: Monday to Friday, term time, plus one week of inset
  • Total hours per week: 37 (including the 20% training element of the Apprenticeship)
  • Apprenticeship duration: 18 months approximately
  • Anticipated start date: September 2024
  • Apprenticeship level: Advanced Level Apprenticeship (Level 3)
  • Apprenticeship standard: Teaching Assistant
  • Essential entry qualifications: GCSEs A* - C, Maths and English (desirable)
