Job Overview

James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd is partnering with a leading non-profit housing provider and support service for individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness to recruit a Facilities Management Specialist on a temporary basis.

This role offers a competitive day rate of up to £375, subject to experience, and will be based in the UK. The contract duration is expected to end in March 2025, with a start date contingent upon notice.

Key Responsibilities
  • To oversee the delivery of reactive repairs and maintenance across the client's property portfolio, ensuring high-quality workmanship, timely completion, and cost-effectiveness in line with contractual, statutory, and internal requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the In-House Maintenance Team and external contractors, which may include regular performance meetings, data analysis, key performance indicators, internal standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to Property Maintenance Surveyor, Maintenance Supervisor, and Senior Administrator to ensure efficient service delivery in accordance with their roles' remits.
  • Collaborate with the Contract and Compliance Manager on reactive repairs and maintenance issues related to mechanical, electrical, or statutory compliance, including servicing, inspections, and checks.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in delivering reactive repairs and void services within the Housing Association or Local Authority sector.
  • Background in working on either the client or contractor side in reactive repairs and voids management.
  • Proven management and supervisory skills.
  • Contract procurement and implementation expertise.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and governance.
  • Ability to monitor contractor performance and manage relationships.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems to track and analyze performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues and meet deadlines.
