About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our team at WithYouWithMe. As a Firmware Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering complex digital systems that meet the challenging requirements of our customers in the aerospace and defence industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop firmware for complex digital systems using world-class facilities and expert support.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver firmware that meets customer requirements.
  • Develop and enhance processes and ways of working across UK-wide FPGA/Firmware delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with experts to deliver firmware for self-protection systems installed on fast jet, UAV, land, and naval platforms.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of UK residency.
  • Ability to achieve full SC security clearance.
  • Strong coding skills and knowledge of design tools such as Xilinx, TCL, Verilog, System Verilog, and UVM.
  • Familiarity with FPGA architectures such as Xilinx 7, Xilinx UltraScale, Intel (Altera), or Microsemi (Actel).
  • Experience with fast interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, and JESD.
  • Knowledge of auto-generated code using model-driven engineering using Matlab and Simulink tools.
  • Ability to derive detailed FPGA/Firmware requirements and architecture from system requirements.
  • Experience with a structured approach to FPGA/firmware design (RTCA DO-254 or similar).
  • Familiarity with cryptography and anti-tamper techniques.
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, including machine learning and genetic algorithms.
  • Experience with electronics test methods and equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in mixed-discipline teams.
