Apprentice Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile and monitor project plans and status reports.
- Compile and monitor project engineering and procurement project files.
- Provide technical and administrative support for specific projects.
- Provide technical and administrative support for drawing and parts list release and modification.
- Provide technical support during the procurement, build, and test phases of specific projects.
- Generate project procurement lists, raise project RFQs and purchase orders.
- Monitor and actively progress the project procurement process.
- Be responsible for receiving project deliveries, goods inwards approval, and assignment to the relevant project.
- Undertake associated project duties as requested by Senior Management.
Requirements:
- SVQ/NVQ level 5 or ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4) or City & Guilds T4 or T6 in Mechanical Engineering, with a supporting EITB Approved Apprenticeship.
- Good understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles and the ability to apply them in an analytical and methodical approach.
- Strong background in Design/Project Administration/Engineering.
- Good level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks Solid Modelling would be an advantage.
- Flexibility and adaptability to a range of working methods and processes.
- Well-organised, able to communicate technical and practical concepts, and a team player.
