About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Physiologist to join our team at Ashford & St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Cardiac Physiologist, you will be responsible for performing and interpreting cardiac investigations, including ECGs, ambulatory monitoring, and exercise tolerance tests.

Key Responsibilities

  • To competently perform and interpret ILR and ICM interrogations.
  • To lead, perform, and report exercise tolerance tests independently.
  • To perform resting ECGs on adults and paediatric patients, and analyse basic ECGs.
  • To perform ambulatory ECG and BP recordings, and review and prioritise inpatient requests for cardiac investigations.
  • To liaise with ward and medical staff to ensure availability of technical staff for in-patient testing.
  • To respond to emergency situations, maintaining control and requesting assistance as necessary.

Person Specification

  • Essential qualifications: BSc (Hons) Cardiac Physiology/Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
  • Significant experience working within a Cardiology Department.
  • Competency to perform and analyse ECGs and ambulatory monitors.
  • Knowledge of indications, contra-indications, and stopping criteria for ETTs.
  • Ability to work independently, concentrate for long periods, and communicate effectively.
